That's the honest question, because TOTO's own S7 is identical minus the motorized lid for about $300 less — the wash is the same. Owners with open bathroom layouts also report the proximity sensor can't tell a toilet visit from a walk-past, so the lid yawns at them on the way to the shower until they disable auto-open. If the hands-free ritual delights you, it's the best version of it; if you're on the fence, buy the S7.

Will auto-flush work on my existing toilet?

Almost certainly not. Auto-flush requires both a WASHLET+ compatible TOTO toilet and a separately-sold kit — on an ordinary toilet you're still flushing by hand no matter what the marketing implies.
